According to National Savings & Investments, more than 38 million of us haven't made any firm plans for our financial needs in later life. 38 million!
It's no secret that we're all getting older and, in later life, good financial planning becomes critical to making the most of retirement.
There was little surprise in these figures that more than 33 million people in the UK still do not have a will.
What is it about the act of making a will that strikes such terror? Writing a will does not mean you are going to die - that will happen regardless!
If you find yourself in this cohort of 38 million Brits without a financial plan for the future, or the 33 million without a will, then do something about it.
Make an appointment to meet with a Chartered Financial Planner. Make an appointment to meet with a solicitor, preferably one who is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners.
But do something.
Nearly half (46%) have yet to have any discussions about their financial future, of which 13% – over 6.5 million – declaring that they currently have no intention of doing so.
